Rev. Debbie Burgio

Rev. Deborah Burgio is a graduate of the University of Maryland (BS Aerospace Engineering) and Wesley Theological Seminary (Master of Theological Studies). Debbie is a Deacon in the United Methodist Church, as well as the founder and president of Winter Grace Senior Ministries, Inc. a non-profit dedicated to serving Older Adults in congregations and the community. She and her husband, Rob (USN Cmdr. Ret.) have two adult children, Thomas and Elizabeth, also graduates of the University of Maryland. Debbie founded Winter Grace Senior Ministries, Inc. Winter Grace is the result of Debbie’s deeply held belief in the God-given dignity and worth of every person, regardless of age, a calling to work with congregations to serve Older Adults, and a desire help other families through the experience of caring for aging parents. Debbie is a former middle school teacher. After a career of home schooling their two children, Debbie attended seminary as a part of fulfilling her call to serve. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the Coalition of Geriatric Services in Howard County, Maryland, as well as part of the Communication and Information team of the Age Friendly Howard initiative. A native Marylander, Debbie and her family returned to Maryland in 2005 following her husband’s retirement from the US Navy (submarines). Debbie’s passion for the wellbeing of Older Adults also led her to become a Certified Health Coach. In addition to serving at Winter Grace, Debbie is appointed to Mt. Zion UMC, Highland, MD.
