Karin Belluoimini

Karin Belluomini grew up in Northern California and graduated from Westmont College in Santa Barbara where she grew in her faith and commitment to following Jesus and serving others. She earned her teaching credential through Point Loma Nazarene University and enjoyed teaching elementary school in Southern California for 10 years. However, her heart was in the field of social work, following in the footsteps of her grandmother. She earned her Masters degree in Social Work through the California State University of Long Beach. As a teenager, Karin experienced the loss of a younger sibling due to cancer and later the loss of her own daughter due to hydrops fetalis. She was compelled to help others suffering similar loss so began working as a Hospice social worker, then as an inpatient medical social worker. Currently Karin is a palliative care social worker with Kaiser Permanente in San Jose, California, working in conjunction with a multi-disciplinary team to address the needs of seriously ill patients in the hospital (often older adults). She has completed a certificate in palliative care through the CSU Institute for Palliative Care and is passionate about what she does to help others.
